How we make a custom padel racket: our 7 step process

Every week someone asks us the same thing: how does making a custom padel racket actually work? The short answer: we take a professional padel racket, add your design in our workshop in the Netherlands, and after 7 days of finishing DHL brings it to your door anywhere in Europe within 3 days. Step 1: The base racket

We start with a professional padel racket. Round shape, 360 g, a 3K carbon face and an EVA foam core, with a 12 month warranty. The same build you know from the big padel brands, tested on court before we add anything to it. We keep these rackets in stock in the Netherlands, in white and black as a base, so there is no waiting weeks for a new production run.

Step 2: Your design

This happens online in our designer. You upload a logo in PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF, or work with text and colours only. The higher the resolution of the file you supply, the sharper the final print. The designer checks your file automatically and warns you when the resolution is too low.

You do not need any design experience. The designer works with simple clicking and dragging. Want something specific that the system cannot do? Send us an email and we will have a look.

Step 3: We check your design

What you design and order is what we finish. You see your racket in 3D while you work on it, so you know what you are getting. After your order we check the file by hand: resolution, position and colours.

If we spot something that will not come out well, a logo with too low a resolution or text running into the edge for example, we get in touch before we start. We do this within 24 hours of your order. If everything is fine you will not hear from us and the racket goes straight into finishing. Want something adjusted yourself? Step 4: Applying the print

We print your design as a high-quality, full-colour film on professional printing equipment. The film is UV-resistant, weatherproof and matched to the carbon surface of the racket. This process is deliberately simpler and faster than printing straight into the material. Why? Because this method lets us make from 1 racket, within a week, with no minimum order. Other suppliers have rackets produced and printed entirely in Asia, which usually means you can only go into production from 12 or 24 pieces. We make one for you. That is the trade-off. On quality: a well applied film with a professional coating holds up just as well as a full print. It stays put through intensive use, sweat and weather.

Step 5: Finishing

After the print comes a protective layer that fixes the film in place and protects it against wear. The racket then gets a fresh grip, a wrist cord and a standard protective cover. Anyone who chose the upgrade gets a premium cover with a shoulder strap for €10 extra.

Step 6: Quality check

Every racket goes through a quality check by hand before it leaves. We check whether the print sits straight, whether there are no specks over it, whether the coating is even and whether the grip is neat. If anything is off, we do it again. That is our guarantee on mistakes at our end.

Step 7: Shipping

Packed, labelled and handed to DHL. You get a message as soon as your racket is on its way. From our workshop it reaches any address in Europe within 3 days, so 7 days of finishing plus at most 3 days of shipping. Shipping is charged separately at checkout and depends on the country: €6.95 in the Netherlands, €9.95 to Belgium and Luxembourg, €12.95 to Germany, €16.95 to Spain, Italy and Ireland. Why this approach works

We deliberately do not set a minimum order of 12 or 24 rackets. Why not? Because a personal gift deserves as much attention as a club order of fifty. The margin on a racket is thin, but the satisfaction it brings, someone receiving a racket with their own wedding date on it, is worth it.

For business orders from 5 rackets we work with tiered prices, ex VAT: €99 per racket from 5, €89 from 10, €79 from 25 and €74 from 50. From 100 rackets we quote. Same finishing, same workshop, same quality check. Larger business orders take 7 to 14 days.
