Padel racket design ideas: how to describe them to the AI
At Custom Your Padel you describe your idea in a few words, pick a style and the AI creates two designs for your padel racket, with a matching rim, for €119.99.

Would you rather turn your own photo into artwork? That costs €119.99, or €139.99 with a printed side (colour, name, text or logo). Below we explain how to describe an idea so the AI turns it into a good racket design, with examples that work and requests best avoided. Start on the Design with AI page.
How does the AI designer work?
In the designer, choose “Design with AI” in the first step. Then fill in a few fields; almost all of them are optional.
- A name or text of up to 24 characters. The AI draws that text into the design, exactly as you type it.
- Your own logo, if you want one. It stays exactly as it is.
- A style: one of the six tiles, “Surprise me”, or “My own idea”. With the last option you describe the design yourself in up to 220 characters.
- Colours, an occasion and a motif of up to 60 characters, such as “palm trees” or “a tiger”.
After about half a minute you get two designs, shown straight away on the racket. Not quite right? Run a new round. You have three rounds a day, so six designs. Once you pick one, the AI creates the rim in the same style in about ten seconds. That is why an AI design is always Full Custom: face and rim.
Which style suits which idea?
Each style has an example in the designer. A quick guide:
- Club crest: a shield or round badge with a ribbon, like a team logo. For a club champion, your regular padel group or a stag do.
- Vintage poster: a sunburst in warm, slightly faded colours with bold lettering. Good for a name with an age or a year.
- Monogram: refined lettering with plenty of space around it. For initials, a wedding or a retirement.
- Tropical: large leaves and flowers in flat shapes. For anyone who wants bright, cheerful colours.
- Waves: calm, layered wave lines. Works well with a short name in the middle, or for someone who surfs in Cornwall.
- Geometric: circles, triangles and stripes. Clean and modern, even without text.
Not sure? Choose “Surprise me” and an occasion. The AI then picks a style that suits the occasion and the colours. If you are torn between colours, read which colour combinations work best on a padel racket first.
Which design ideas work well?
A good idea has one subject, a few colours and a short text at most. Seven examples, with what you fill in:
| Idea | What you fill in | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| Father’s Day | Text DAD, style Club crest, colour Dark green, motif “a padel ball in a laurel wreath” | One short word and one motif: DAD becomes the centre of the crest. |
| A 40th birthday | Text EMMA 40, style Vintage poster, colour Orange | A name with a number suits the bold letters of a retro poster. |
| Retirement | Text GRAHAM 2026, style Monogram, colour Black and gold, occasion Retirement | Calm and stylish, with space around the text. |
| Club champion | Upload the club badge, text CHAMPION 2026, style Club crest, colour Colours from my logo | The badge stays exactly as it is; the AI designs around it and places the text below it. |
| Wedding | Text TOM & PRIYA, style Monogram, colour Pastel, occasion Wedding | Two first names with an ampersand fit easily within 24 characters. |
| Your Tuesday night group | Text TUESDAY CREW, style Waves, colour Blue | A short group name on a calm background stays the focal point. |
| A summer holiday racket | No text, style Tropical, colour Bright colours | Without text the AI draws no letters: you get a bold, cheerful pattern. |
How do you describe your own idea?
With “My own idea” you describe the design yourself, in up to 220 characters. Keep to this order: what goes on it, which style, which colours, and where it should stay calm. For example:
- “A retro club crest with a padel ball and a laurel wreath, navy and cream, calm in the middle.”
- “Rolling green hills and a stone wall at sunrise, flat shapes, soft green and gold, plenty of sky.”
- “A lighthouse on a cliff in bold flat shapes, red, white and sea blue, with an empty circle in the middle.”
Two things to know. Any text that should appear on the racket always goes in the text field, not in your description: the AI only draws the text from that field. And you can write in your own language; the AI receives your description exactly as you type it.
What does not work?
- Well-known brands, people and characters. The AI will not create a sports brand’s logo, a famous player or a cartoon character. Your own name or text is fine.
- Asking the AI to redraw an existing logo. The AI does not draw logos. Upload the logo yourself, and only a logo you are allowed to use, such as your own club’s or company’s.
- Someone else’s photo without permission. With artwork from your photo, you confirm that everyone in it has agreed. Photos of famous people cannot be used.
- Long texts and tiny lettering. The AI draws one text of up to 24 characters, large and bold. The face has holes that run through the design: large letters stay readable, tiny letters and thin lines do not.
- Too many separate elements. A dog, a beach, a sun, three names and a date on one face is too busy. Choose one subject and one motif at most.
- Photorealism, gradients or shadows. With a text or logo design the AI works in flat colours, so it prints sharply. If you want real people in the picture, choose artwork from your photo.
- Asking for a frame or holes. The face is cut out of the design as a circle, and the AI creates the rim separately. Drawn holes never line up with the real ones.
How do you put a name or date on your racket?
Type the name or date into the text field. The AI draws it letter for letter as you type it, with the same capitals and without translating it. Because the AI draws the letters itself, check them before you order. If a letter is wrong, run a new round. With a text or logo design, the same name also goes on the rim.
Short texts work best: a first name, two names with an ampersand, or a name with a year. A date could be 12 JUNE 2027, for example. More ideas for names are in padel racket with a name.
Can you add your own logo?
Yes. Upload your logo as a PNG, JPG or SVG. The AI designs the face around it and keeps the centre free; that is where your logo goes, exactly as you supplied it. Choose “Colours from my logo” and the AI builds the design from the colours of your logo. Any text then sits below the logo.

Prefer your photo as artwork?
With “Artwork from your photo” you upload a photo and the AI turns it into anime, illustration, pop art, oil painting or watercolour, on a padel court, a beach, in a city, in nature or on a plain background. You can add a name. That costs €119.99, or €139.99 with a printed side (colour, name, text or logo). Examples and details are on the page about your photo as artwork. Your photo goes to OpenAI to create the design; we do not keep it.
What else do you choose in the designer?
- Which design. You pick one of the two, or run a new round.
- The side. With a text or logo design the AI creates the rim, with your name on it; you do not edit it yourself. With artwork from your photo the side is black and you decide whether a colour, name, text or logo goes on it. That makes it €139.99.
- A cover. The premium cover costs €15, or €35 with your own text or logo. The AI design only goes on the racket; the cover is black, with your text or logo as a sticker.
- The check. You see every design on the racket straight away and can rotate it with the 3D button. Before you pay, you can view the racket in 3D from every angle.
With an AI design you do not add separate text or elements to the face: the AI draws the design in one go. If you would rather place everything yourself, use the padel racket designer without AI, with your own text, logos and colours.
What does an AI design cost, and when will you have it?
A design with text or a logo costs €119.99, always with face and rim. Artwork from your photo costs €119.99, or €139.99 with a printed side. A cover costs €15, or €35 with a design. Shipping is added per country, for example €16.95 to Ireland and €17.95 to the UK. For the UK, Switzerland and Norway, import VAT and duties may apply and are paid by the recipient. All prices, including those without AI, are on our page about a personalised padel racket.
After your order we turn your design into a sharp print file. The racket (round, 100% carbon, EVA core, about 360 grams) comes from Asia. We produce your design and apply it in our workshop in the Netherlands, as a sticker with UV protection, so nothing is printed into the material. The warranty is 12 months and also covers the sticker coming loose.
Production takes up to 7 working days, and the racket is with you within 10 working days. For Christmas, order by Wednesday 9 December. More ideas for padel gifts are on our gift page.
